a little light reading

At the moment, this is approximately my summer reading list:

1. Stephen King's Dark Tower series
2. The Spirit Catches You And You Fall Down (for my college)
3. Tamora Pierce's books that I hadn't read yet--Bloodhound and Melting Stones
4. Linguistic Anthropology by Alessandro Duranti.

...I can't wait for college libraries. I have been finding the scraps and pieces of paper on which I have written titles of obscure academic books that sounded cool over the past year or so and searching for the books on my college's library system website. So far they have all either been there, or been very close.

Unfortunately, I am pretty sure that they won't let me just live in the library for a couple of weeks at the beginning of the term, which is the only downside that I can see.

I don't know if you're a morning person or a night person. If you're a morning person, sometimes you can go to the library on a weekend morning and be the only person on an entire floor, just you and all those books.

I loved college at the time but don't miss it now because I'm at a different place in my life. But that's one part I do miss.

Oh, I like that idea. I'll have to remember that--I am an avowed morning person.

Where did you find Linguistic Anthropology? If it is yours; can I borrow it?

College libraries are awesome. I go to print out my paper and spend an hour just wandering around and browsing everything.

It is mine. My dad gets book catalogs of academica sometimes and let me pick something out. You can borrow it at some point, though I just got it and I want to read it too.

It's funny, because I am sure there will be so many other great aspects of college, and yet college library is a concept that I can get my head around. Because I have been in college libraries and know the wonders of them. Whereas I have never done anything that resembles some of the other stuff that will be awesome when I get to college.

Ah, the Dark Tower series is wonderful! The books are of varying quality, but the ending gets me every time. Let me know when you finish so I can hear your reaction.

I will do that! I have Thoughts on them already, but I plan to just keep reading quietly for now.
