making time to make time

Okay, so that whole "oh no I have no time to write in college" thing?

Apparently, if I go to bed at 10, I can wake up at 6 fully rested. Which gives me a full hour before the dining hall even opens for breakfast, which still gives me an hour and a bit to eat breakfast before an 8:35 class.

Also, dressing gowns are very handy things for sitting around in the common room in one's pajamas because one doesn't feel like getting dressed at six in the morning.

Now if I can just a) remember this trick and b) hopefully get into the creative writing class I want to for next semester, I should be all set.

When I was teaching at a small, liberal arts, women's, Catholic college, it was not uncommon for one or more student to show up in a robe and slippers to my 9:00 a.m. Intro Psych class.

I'm told that this doesn't happen as much, now that the school has gone co-ed.

heh.

I never did that myself, but my slippers got quickly upgraded to outdoor wear the year I had an 8:30 am electronics lecture.

9:00 a.m. doesn't seem early when one has a 8:00 a.m. Anthropology of Science Fiction class. Though my friend, who is also in that 8:00 class, has work at 6:00 a.m. on the other days of the week.
