caught in Shannon's eyelashes

My estimates on this novel's length keep getting shorter and shorter. Except that's probably a good thing, because it feels like a MG novel and they tend to be shortish. I looked up average MG novel wordcounts today in order to hearten myself, and was duly heartened. I'll likely tighten up a bunch of things in the next draft, too.
--which feels funny, realizing that I might end up needing to condense my prose just as NaNoWriMo's starting. It's sort of like really noticing for the first time that I don't work like that, at least not on this project.
Either way--hey! Progress! I like having two novels to work on in different stages of revision. When one of them is at a place that will be time-consuming and I just have bits and pieces of time filched from other things, I can go work on the other one.
And this is the end of the loosely and mostly arbitrarily designated Part Three. So I get some more trains, and a setting change, and a re-introduction of some characters we haven't seen in a while. That should be fun. Swooping on toward the end.
